informational Web Site for pharmacists and compounding pharmacies.
MEMORANDUM
From: Tom Menighan, PCAB President
To: Compounding Pharmacy Stakeholders
Cc: PCAB Board of Directors
Tom Murry, PCAB Executive Director
Enclosed with this memorandum, you will find a draft version of the revised PCAB
Standards. The PCAB Standards Task Force developed the draft version of the revised
PCAB Standards over the course of several months. Earlier this month, the PCAB Board
of Directors voted to circulate the draft version of the revised PCAB Standards for public
comment.
Several comments were received on the existing PCAB Standards from compounding
pharmacists, regulatory bodies, and other organizations interested in pharmacy
compounding. These comments were addressed by the PCAB Standards Task Force and
many suggestions were incorporated into the draft version of the revised PCAB
Standards.
Please submit your comments on the draft version of the revised PCAB Standards
electronically to: contact@pcab.org
The public commenting period on the draft version of the revised PCAB Standards will
remain open until FRIDAY, JANUARY 29, 2010.
To find the current PCAB Standards and PCAB Labeling Guidelines, please visit: www.pcab.info/standards.shtml

Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation: A How-to Manual
Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board (PCAB) accreditation affords compounding pharmacists an unparalleled opportunity to demonstrate superior quality and safety in their compounding practices. And yet, since PCAB was founded in 2004, only a modest number of pharmacies across the nation have achieved accreditation. Other pharmacies have applied for accreditation but have not completed the process. Now, with Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation: A How-To Manual, published by the American Pharmacists Association, there’s no longer reason to wait. For more information or to order, click here.
